The last weeks and months I tried to get better at digital painting. I am used to work with lineart intead of blocking colors like a painter so I tried to get out of my comfort zone. To achieve that, I read a lot about painting techniques and did a lot of training between jobs.
It felt like being back at school and started learning the basics again. Now after a long time I feel more confident about my new stuff and will share some of the ideas that I am planning on doing over the next weeks.

With the director of 'Dark Carnival' being the first, I will try to emphasise on focus, light and shadows to create a proper emotional atmosphere. I chose a horror theme because I hope it is more easy to achieve an emotional response. At the moment I am exited about the different direction my work goes and I think it will add more variety to my range of illustrations.
